About the event

Sustainable mobility is a buzzword with mystique surrounding it. But where do we start understanding sustainable mobility? How can we adopt it in our daily lives? Discussions around this topic are accessible to only a few people with academic understanding. TDTM discussion series aims to demystify sustainability discourse and make it accessible to all. People of all ages, backgrounds and perspectives are welcome. Let's bust myths, expand our horizons and continue learning to make the planet a better place. In this discussion, mobility expert Sahil Bhandare will give a short presentation on the topic. Clean mobility researcher Deepjyoti Das and Sahil will actively participate in this discussion. Sahil is working with the Government of Maharashtra at the Department of Environment and Climate Change. He is involved with the Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan, the state-wide climate change mitigation program as a Clean Mobility Consulting Climate Fellow. He has been involved in the drafting of the Electric Vehicle Policy of Maharashtra, 2021. He also contributes with a clean mobility perspective to various Departments of the Ministry. He completed his M. Tech in Product Design and B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram. Deepjyoti Das is currently pursuing his Ph.D. and is on the verge of its completion at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. In his research work, he focuses on the implications of decarbonization of on-road transportation in India. His vision is to create a community-based transportation system that addresses mobility issues along with its environmental sustainability.
