Did you know that even your daily mindless scrolling can contribute to your digital carbon footprint? It turns out that the answer to this question is a big yes. Everyday email activity creates as much CO2 as having 7 millions cars on the street. That should make you think, right? I think as much as its important to look at the excessive screen usage from a mental health perspective, we should also sometimes look at it through another lens: the climate. As we go forward, into a data-driven-work-from-home-world, we should look inwards and figure out ways to decrease this problem at hand.

This is really true! I wanted to know a bit more about which devices are more energy efficient/inefficient and make better consumer choices based on that. Online energy consumption is an unavoidable climate expense these days due to remote work but we should definitely be conscious of our consumption habits. On an average day, I end up charging my phone 2-3 times and it hardly 3 months old! I have switched off background app refresh and notifications for most apps so I am not tempted to open them unnecessarily but I really don't know what I can do beyond that... Any suggestions?
